BACOOR City Mayor Strike Revilla, in his pursuit of providing work opportunities to his constituents, has been working hand in hand with New York English Language Proficiency Center (NYELPC), a training company accredited by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), in providing free training program and job assistance to Filipinos who aspire to work in the fast growing industry of call centers/ Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).
NYELPC, also shares with the said official’s social responsibility and efforts in helping Filipinos land a job where they can utilize their hard-won education.
The said scholarship program sponsored by Mayor Strike in partnership with NYELPC offers a whole new perspective in the call center/BPO training as it makes use of modern strategies such as computer-assisted instruction called DynEd, small group discussion and blended learning and the use of MOODLE, a course management system to further reinforce learning.
The 100-hour free program encompasses extensive lectures and activities to improve the trainees’ confidence, English communication, job interview skills, soft skills, telephony skills and sales skills.
Applicants must be 18-40 years old with good working knowledge of English and at least second year college or two year vocational course graduate.
Screening and assessment are done through job fair events at parishes/churches and municipalities and through on-line assessment at http://www.nyelpc.com/ courses/exam.
