July 16 saw the launch of Busog, Lusog, Talino (BLT), a partnership between the city government of Bacoor, through its Department of Education and City Social Welfare and Development Office, and Jollibee Foundation. The in-school feeding program aims to increase the weight of wasted and severely wasted (undernourished) grade 1 and 2 students from public schools within Bacoor.
Under this project, some 440 students from 11 public schools in Bacoor will be served lunch starting 16 July until 28 February based on a healthy menu prepared by Jollibee Foundation. During its launch attended by City Mayor Strike B. Revilla, PhD, students were treated to a hearty – and healthy – lunch of rice and chicken ‘tinola’ with vegetables. The local chief executive thanked Jollibee Foundation for partnering with the City of Bacoor on this program, which will benefit the students’ health and well-being. According to Bacoor CSWD, other dishes to be prepared on a shifting basis are guinataang tokwa con kalsi-mal, ginisang dilis with kalabasa, ground pork menudo, vegetable omelet, moringa shanghai rolls, monggo sarciado delight.
