The Autism Society of the Philippines (ASP)-Cavite together with Laguna, Batangas and Lucena Chapters and in partnership with St. Brother Miguel Febres Cordero Neurodevelopmental Center DeLa Salle-Health Sciences Institute and the Local Government Unit of Carmona will be holding the 5th Regional Conference on Autism - ”Living with Autism: Hope @Home” – on August 11-12 at Carmona and Dasmariñas, Cavite, respectively.
The two-day conference will be participated by the local government officials and representatives from Region IV-A, parents, professionals and students. The first day of which will highlight the Community – Based Rehabilitation (CBR) program of the Local Government Unit of Carmona and best practices on Persons with Disability Affairs Office which is considered as a model in providing for and prioritizing the needs of PWDs. The second day will focus on topics regarding family and community approaches concerning Autism. It will be hosted by the De La Salle Neurodevelopmental Center DeLa Salle-Health Sciences Institute, Dasmariñas City.
The objective of the said conference is to give children with Autism and their family, hope by introducing different strategies and techniques in coping and realize their full potential. It also aims to impart that caring for PWDs should not be confined in the four corners of the house-it should be shared with the community, town, province and region.
