Bacoor Cavite is now a City

Yes, Bacoor is now a city. After 36,226 out of the 40,080 Bacoorenos who casted their votes gave their  nod of approval in favor of the municipality’s bid for cityhood, Bacoor has officially been proclaimed a city at  the now-historic ABC Hall in Brgy. Talaba 7. The much-awaited plebiscite was held on 23 June from 7am  to 3pm in 792 clustered precincts within Bacoor. The proclamation, made by Commission on Elections  (Comelec) Election Officer Annie Laceda, was met with cheers and fireworks, as local officials led by  Mayor Strike B. Revilla, PhD (joined by wife Ms Chaye Cabal Revilla), Congw Lani Mercado Revilla,  Board Member Ramon Jolo Revilla III shook hands and exchanged hugs with barangay captains and  officials, NGO representatives, volunteers, municipal heads and employees. City Mayor Strike thanked all Bacoorenos for their support and for being a part of this milestone, and for giving their thumbs-up  ‘sa tuloy- tuloy na serbisyo, ganap na pagbabago sa Lungsod ng Bacoor.’ (BPIO/Photos: Ruben Gabalfin)
